Art History Musings is a blog designed to provide a community for art history discussion. Any contributing member may post questions or news items which can be discussed by anyone. How do you become a contributing member? Leave a comment to this post and I’ll add you in.
A few things to keep in mind: If, as a contributing member, you post anything hateful, deliberately insulting or disrespectful, not only will your entire post be removed but you will no longer be permitted to post to this blog. You don’t have to be a member to comment, but all comments are screened.
Regarding what you can post: As long as it’s to do with art history, art, or art theory, you can post it. No advertisements or announcements of art shows please. If you went to an art show, feel free to post about your experience–but this blog is not designed to be a marketing platform.
That said, I welcome any and all to join. Please keep in mind that posts may be checked for accuracy. If an inaccuracy is found, I will simply insert an edit to clarify so that your original composition is not affected. However, please try to be as accurate as possible.
Regarding news items: You may link to other stories and photographs so long as you provide proper credit. If you’re caught plagiarizing, you will no longer be permitted to post. Also, please don’t post your art history thesis on this blog. If you’re looking for somewhere to publish that sort of thing online, let me know and I’ll be happy to make some suggestions.
